CHEF.FE.S A TABLE
2021
Florence Hainaut and Myriam Baya approached me to design the bookcover illustration for their cookbook 50 chef·fe·s se mettent à table, with the desire to create a bookcover that would differentiate itself a bit from what we regularly see in bookshops. The major elements were to bring some human presence, a warm and joyful feeling, and to focus on the kitchen atmosphere, instead of the finished recipe. Taking into account the feminist values of the authors, I wanted to make this human presence sort of genderless, free to interpretation, which I was able to do in the final concept.
Below the final cover, you'll see a few preliminatory sketches of the options that were not chosen.
